Privacy policy

The short version

• You don't need an account. This site sets no cookies and runs no analytics or ads.
• Your reading is worked out inside your own browser. Typing your name and birth date into the Calendar Maker sends them nowhere.
• Your details leave your device only when you choose: by copying a share link, or by sending us an order on WhatsApp or by email.
• We use what you send us to make and deliver your garment. We never sell it.

Who we are

SHIPPA, Johannesburg, South Africa. For the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA), we are the responsible party for the personal information you share with us, and the owner of SHIPPA acts as our Information Officer.

What we collect, and when

When you use the Calendar Maker

You enter a name, a date of birth and, if you like, a birth hour, and you choose a cloth, placement, pattern and size. All of this is processed in your browser to cast your wheel — none of it is uploaded to us.

So your casting is still there next time you visit, your browser saves it on your device (in its local storage, under the name shippa-casting-v2). Downloads of your wheel (SVG or PNG) go straight to your device too. You can erase the saved casting at any time with the button further down this page, or by clearing this site's data in your browser.

When you copy a share link

A share link carries your name, birth date, birth hour and choices, so whoever opens it sees your wheel. That means anyone you send it to can read those details — only share it with people you trust. We don't receive the link unless you send it to us.

When you order

"Commission on WhatsApp" and "send the order by email" open your own WhatsApp or email app with a message already written: your serial, your reading, your cloth, placement, pattern, size and price, plus a share link that contains your name, birth date and hour. Nothing is sent until you press send.

Once you do, we'll ask in the chat for what we need to deliver your order: a delivery address and a phone number.

When you pay

We send payment details in the chat — our bank details for EFT, or a payment link. We never ask for card details on this website. If you pay through a payment link, the payment provider handles your card under its own terms.

When you book or ask a question

If you book a consultation or message us on WhatsApp or by email, we receive whatever you choose to write to us.

Why we use it

To make, print and deliver your garment; to prepare and hold your consultation; to answer your questions; to handle exchanges; and to keep the records the law requires of a business. We won't send you marketing unless you've asked for it, and we don't sell or rent your information to anyone.

Who else is involved

A few services handle information so that the site, and your order, can work:

• WhatsApp (Meta) or your email provider carries the messages you send us.
• Our courier receives your name, delivery address and phone number to deliver your order.
• A payment provider — only if you pay through a payment link.
• Afrihost hosts this website. Like any web server, it keeps standard access logs: your IP address, the time, and the pages requested.
• Google Fonts. When a page loads, your browser fetches the site's typefaces from Google's servers, which receive your IP address and basic browser details.

How long we keep it

Order and consultation details: for as long as we need them to fulfil your order and handle any exchange, and after that only for as long as tax and accounting law requires. What's saved in your browser stays there until you clear it.

Your rights

Under POPIA you can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, and object to how we use it. Message or email us and we'll respond.

If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, you can complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa at inforegulator.org.za.

If you're under 18

Please use the Calendar Maker and place orders with a parent or guardian's consent.

Clear what's saved on this device

This removes your saved casting — name, birth date, hour and choices — from this browser. It doesn't affect anything you've already sent us; to have that deleted, message us.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle information, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
